Behavior Contract
What is it?
The behavior agreement is a signed contract between a student, teacher and parents, which states behavioral or academic goals for the student, as well as any reinforcers or rewards that the student may earn contingent upon achievement of the goals.

- Behavioral contracting is one method of trying to manage the behavior of students.
- The research on behavior contracting has shown that it is an efficient, acceptable, and effective intervention to improve the behaviors of students (Miller & Kelly, 1994).
Which students is geared for?
- Designed for students who respond well to school-based incentives (i.e.Eager to earn rewards, special privileges, and/or recognition from others)
- Students who dislike particular academic subjects and could benefit from receiving extrinsic reinforcement (i.e., pay-off, rewards)
- Students who could benefit from receiving pre-correction and prompting.
